December 2010 Tennis Tidbits

*Jim Sheehan of Swansboro High School has been named the 2010 East Central Conference Women's Tennis Coach of the Year.

*Senior Lindsay Cooper has been named the 2010 Most Valuable Player for the Ardrey Kell High School Women's Tennis team.

*Danielle McGee of Topsail High School and Quinn Carlton of East Duplin High School have been named the 2010 East Central Conference Women's Tennis Players of the Year.

*Tim Smith of Mooresville High School has been named the 2010 I-Meck Conference Women's Tennis Coach of the Year.

*Michael Watson of Marvin Ridge High School has been named the 2010 Southern Carolina Conference Women's Tennis Coach of the Year.

*Ayden-Grifton High School, coached by Will Tyer, will open its 2010 men's tennis season on Thursday, March 3rd at the new South Creek High School in Martin County.

*Wilson Beddingfield High School, coached by Phillip Johnson, will open its 2010 men's tennis season on Monday, February 28th against Northern Nash, coached by Zach Marks.


*Morganton Freedom High School, coached by Wayne Giese, will open its 2010 men's tennis season at Shelby on Tuesday, March 1st.


*Jeff Kinlaw is the new men's and women's tennis coach at Red Springs High School.

*Raleigh Broughton, coached by Bill White , will open its 2010 men's tennis season on Thursday, March 3rd at home against Leesville Road High School.


*Krissy O'Brien of Lejeune High School has been named the 2010 Coastal Plains Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Year.


*Mount Airy women's tennis coach Scott Kniskern and his wife Andrea welcomed their son, Chase Michael, into the world on Wednesday, December 8th.

*Rocky Mount High School, coached by Barry Nethercutt, will open its 2010 men's tennis season on Monday, February 28th at 4:00 p.m. at Eastern Wayne High School, coached by Craig Hassell.

*Kayla Price of Charlotte Harding University High School was named the MEGA-7 Conference 2010 Women's Tennis Player of the Year.

*Jon Huffman of Maiden High School has been named the 2010 Catawba Valley Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Year.

*Robert Allensworth has moved from Concord High School to take over the men's tennis program at Cox Mill High School.

*Claire Rinaldo of East Lincoln High School has been named the 2010 Southern Piedmont Women's Tennis Player of the Year.

*Pam Beecher is the new men's tennis coach at Concord High School.

*Defending 3-A state champion Asheville High School, coached by Jerry Porter, will open its 2010 men's tennis season on Wednesday, March 2nd at home against A.C. Reynolds.

*Greg Weaver of South Mecklenburg High School has been named the 2010 Southwestern Conference Women's Tennis Coach of the Year.

 *Josh Lilley of D.H. Conley High School has been named the 2010 Coastal Conference Women's Tennis Coach of the Year.

*Hopewell High School, coached by Craig Smith, will open its 2010 men's tennis season on Monday, February 28th at Charlotte Olympic.

*Pete Rudolph of First Flight High School has been named the 2010 Northeastern Coastal Conference Women's Tennis Coach of the Year.

*Jay Cook of Graham High School and Wayne Knight of Reidsville High School have been named the 2010 Mid-State Conference Women's Tennis Coaches of the Year.

*Shannon Herndon of Watauga High School has been named the 2010 Northwestern Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Year.

*Defending 4-A state champion Winston-Salem R.J. Reynolds, coached by Brad Fisher, will open its 2011 men's tennis season on Thursday, March 3rd at Ardrey Kell.

*Kathryn Stroup of Ledford High School has been named the 2010 Mid-Piedmont Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Year.

*Tarboro High School, coached by Billy Strother, will open its 2011 men's tennis season on Tuesday, March 1st at home against Southern Nash, coached by Brad Joyner.

*Scott Larson of Reagan High School has been named the 2010 Central Piedmont Conference Women's Tennis Coach of the Year.

*North Brunswick, coached by Cathy Gotsch, will open its 2010 men's tennis season on Monday, February 28th at Whiteville. 

*East Chapel Hill High School, coached by Lindsey Linker, will open its 2010 men's tennis season on Tuesday, March 1st at Durham Jordan High School.

*Randy Grimes of Ledford High School has been named the 2010 Mid-Piedmont Conference Women's Tennis Coach of the Year.
  


*Hannah Moxley of West Stanly High School has been named the 2010 Rocky River Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Year.

*Kelly Connelly of East Wake High School and Joe Walls of Garner Magnet School have been named the 2010 Greater Neuse River Women's Tennis Coaches of the Year.

*Jill Gardiner of Concord High School has been named the 2010 South Piedmont Conference Women's Tennis Coach of the Year.

*Chad Yow of West Stanly High School has been named the 2010 Rocky River Conference Women's Tennis Coach of the Year.

*William Brown of Charlotte Harding University has been named the 2010 Mega-7 Conference Women's Tennis Coach of the Year.

*Chloe Willetts of Winston-Salem R.J. Reynolds High School has been named the 2010 Central Piedmont Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Year.

*Lauren Booker of Cardinal Gibbons High School has been named the 2010 Carolina Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Year.
