04/06/2010 18:30

Cedar Ridge revenged an earlier loss with an 8-1 victory Carrboro on Monday, April 5th in a Carolina 9 Conference battle.    The Carolina 9 Conference, which also contains 2-A state-ranked Northwood and 1-A state ranked Raleigh Charter and the North Carolina School of Science and Math, is annually one of the toughest leagues in the state.    Coach Eric Rodgman's Red Wolves revenged an earlier 5-4 loss to Coach Patti Fox's Carrboro squad by taking all four of the tiebreaks (three set and one match) on the day.   Cedar Ridge improved to 4-6 in league play and 5-6 overall with the win.  Carrboro dropped to 4-5 in the conference and 5-5 overall with the loss.   Matthew Dwinell prevailed in two set tiebreaks for the Red Wolves at number five singles.   "This was the longest match of the day, but Matthew played his best tennis of the season for us," said Coach Rodgman.
