Croatan Wins Coastal Battle With West Carteret

Croatan downed West Carteret 5-4 in a non-conference meeting between two coastal powerhouses on Wednesday, March 31st.    Coach Doug Sheaffer's 2-A squad pulled out the win, thanks to third set tiebreak singles victories by Justin Merrell and Gordon Winchester.    West Carteret, a 3-A member of the Coastal Conference coached by Mark Thompson, pulled out a tiebreak win at number one doubles.   The Patriots dropped to 8-3 overall with the loss.
