Crusaders Top Wildcats in Preseason Scrimmage

Cardinal Gibbons, the defending 2-A state champions, topped East Chapel Hill 6-3 in a men's tennis preseason scrimmage on Tuesday, February 23rd in Chapel Hill. The Crusaders, coached by Andrew Tuttle and ranked #2 in the state in 3-A this season, took three through six singles and numbers two and three doubles to post the win. Coach Lindsey Linker's East Chapel Hill Wildcats, ranked number seven in the state in 4-A, got singles and doubles wins from Sam Weissler and Peter McDonald at the top of the lineup. The final three singles matches, all won by the Crusaders, were decided by a third set tiebreak.
