First Flight Wins Battle of 2-A State Ranked Powers

Two of the state's top 10 2-A teams met in a Northeastern Coastal Conference matchup on Thursday, March 18th, with seventh-ranked First Flight prevailing 7-2 over fifth-ranked Edenton Holmes.   The defending 2-A state finalists, coached by Pete Rudolph, swept the doubles matches to take the victory.    Grainger Coughtrey and Adam Lewis won in singles for the Aces, coached by John Smoot.  Edenton Holmes dropped to 4-1 in the league and overall with the loss while First Flight remained unbeaten.
