Green Hope Edges Millbrook

CARY In an epic first-round playoff matchup, the undefeated Green Hope boys tennis team outlasted defending 4-A state champion Millbrook 5-4 on Tuesday at the Cary Tennis Center.

The match, which lasted nearly five hours, came down to the second doubles. The Falcons' tandem of Stevie Wang and Kelly Patch edged Millbrook's Mike Allan and Brad Meir in a grueling two and a half hour marathon that witnessed six lead changes, four ties, and a 10-point tiebreak to determine which of the top ranked teams in North Carolina would advance.
