Northern Durham Tops New Hanover 5-4

Northern Durham got its Port City weekend off to a great start with a 5-4 victory at Wilmington New Hanover on Friday, April 9th.   Coach Scott Wells' Northern Durham squad used third set tiebreak wins by Pierce Hoover and Robert Jenkins at the top two singles spots to take the win.   Coach David Henry's Wildcats, ranked seventh in the state in 4-A, knotted the score at 3-3 in singles with wins by Shaun Spicer, Eric Leder, and David Cox.   New Hanover dropped to 8-5 on the season with the loss.
