R.J. Reynolds Advances to Semifinals in California

Winston-Salem R.J. Reynolds advanced to the semifinals of the All-American High School Invitational Tournament at Newport Beach, California on Friday night with a victory over Bellarmine Prep of California.   The two teams battled to a 4-4 tie in the tournament format of five singles and three doubles matches, but the Demons advanced because of the tiebreak procedure of total games won.    Reynolds, coached by Brad Fisher, improved to 6-0 on the season while Bellarmine Prep (5-1) suffered its first loss.    The Demons, ranked number two in the state in 4-A, will square off against University Prep of California in the semifinals at 1:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, March 20th.
