I have never cut a player, but I usually only get about 8-12 players, so its not difficult to manage.  I really like the idea of no-cut, though.  I have had a lot of beginners come out who looked lost at first, but blossomed with a year of practice.  I would think with a large number, you would probably limit the number that travel to matches.  I have seen some opponents that put on practice matches with extra players as courts come free at the end of a match.
