Millbrook Wins Battle of Titans in Raleigh

Defending 4-A state champion Raleigh Millbrook, coached by Chris Grimes and currently ranked number one in the state in 4-A, won a battle of titans in Raleigh on Monday, March 8th by a score of 8-1 over defending 2-A state champion Cardinal Gibbons, coached by Andrew Tuttle and currently ranked #2 in the state in 3-A.   the match was much closer than the final score indicated as Millbrook had to pull out a trio of third-set tiebreaks to clinch the decision in singles.   Two of the three doubles matches were also tight.    Sean Weber pulled out one of the third set tiebreaks for Coach Grimes at number one singles.   Matt Daly won at number two singles for the only Cardinal Gibbons' win on the day.  Millbrook improved to 2-0 with the victory while Cardinal Gibbons dropped to 3-1.
